Hmmm. Not seeing much movement here and I was expecting to gain more traffic on the next update.

The movement is very odd. This is not a normal update, but seems like they are playing around with a few things like they are getting ready for one. Very unstable right now, small changes every hour.

For a week my main site is enjoying quite stable results.

I didn't see much movement.

I scored over 100 key words in yahoo today and the movement was only 24 positions, it was almost identical to the results from mid May.

Around April 8th, Yahoo did wierd update, which looked like a "half-update" (see post here [webmasterworld.com...] This was after the large Yahoo update on the 1st of April. If looks like Yahoo has reverted back from the April 8th results, and we are seeing the update from April 1st.

In other words, it looks like they corrected themselves from the mistake or the "half-update" on the 8th.

Yeah, looks like they fixed the half update theory. Great stuff Yahoo!

Oh gosh guys, the spam stuff is in the other SE's as well.

Some some movement yesterday (up, down, up, down). Today it appears to be back to how it was.

Yahoo update is competing with google's update and they are doing a better job this time!

RS_200_gto said, "Yahoo update is competing with google's update and they are doing a better job this time!"

I believe that the top 3 SEs are doing updates pretty much at the same time. I think the top 3 have inside spys for sure.

Re: Shopping Compairison searchs

I am seeing a major movement on these such sites on yahoo one really comes to mind on yahoo for a serious term, might be the most searched on worder next to " sex ". Over 100,000,000 in competition.

Time will tell .

I mean a site can't stick around at 69 forever right?

Something up with the Yahoo index this morning (East Coast US). I've lost about 50% of my pages after growing steadily since April 1st. In fact, the results look like they are based on an index pre April 1st.

BillyS,

I am noticing the same thing after some more up and down movement over the night.

This morning I saw a big in Yahoo SERPs across a variety of sectors I'm involved with. But it switched back to the old set of sets soon after.

Not sure if this is a major upgrade or just a typical flux in results.

I'm seeing big movements on my latest site. For the last few weeks I was number six for a big phrase. Sometimes I'm still there, but other times I'm in the hundreds. Feeling a little panic.

Something is going on... Prior to the big April 1st update I had around 340 pages in the Yahoo index (out of a possible 800). After the update I went to around 550. Since April 1st that number has climbed to around 650. On Sunday it dropped right back to 340. I think they've swithched back to the old index for some reason. Possibly staging their next BIG update.

I do not see a large move.

It's a paradox, but it seems to me that a (rich keyword title and description) Dmoz listing can give you a boost.

If you are so lucky that a meta ODP editor list you in the editor profile, you will be in the top....

The results changed on the 27th for me.
Looks like the rankings have moved back to reflect those on about the 8th or 9th of this month.

But the cache etc is still current

I'm doing much better in Yahoo now...still only enough to make up for about 10% of the traffic I've lost from Google this year (up from around 2% last week), but nice to see the access graphs moving upwards again for a change.

Not sure if it's a proper update, i'm waiting on a few sites to do the business that aren't listed yet but alas, nothing.

My site's link popularity in Yahoo went from almost 80000 to 25000 in the past week. Any ideas on how Yahoo is choosing which sites they elevate or drop? :(

Yahoo is an odd beast.

For my largest site I'll go the first 12 hours of the day with nothing from them and then for the last 12 hours they'll be my primary source.
