Mother of All Yahoo Penalty Questions
Looking for Clarification of What Constitutes a Ban or a Penalty

I have been reading all the different threads related to Yahoo! penalty questions for some time now. I collected a couple of questions from the various threads that still seem to be unasnwered

I have yet to find a concrete answer on how to determine the penalization of sites.

According to Yahoo!'s submit for review page, if your site is listed for an obscure phrase or senetence, you are not penalized, and do not bother filling out the request for review.

But what if it comes back fifth to last, behind all the feeds, for obscure senetences on the your page? Is this considered being listed and not penalized?

Fifth to last, but not returned in SERPS for any KWS. Is this a penalty.

In index over the weekend, but not during the week. Is this a penalty?

When you hit 'more pages from site' link, two copies of index are shown, but no other pages from site. Is this a penalty?

According to Yahoo!'s submit for review page

Are you referring to SiteMatch?

I take it that SIteMatch is the only way to get to the bottom of suspected/definite problems, its pretty useless for anything else.

[add.yahoo.com...]

>>>if your site is listed for an obscure phrase or senetence, you are not penalized

where does it say that?

Not sitematch, natural serps.

from [add.yahoo.com...]

"To see if a site or page is listed in the Yahoo! Search Index, enter a phrase (5-10 words) unique to the page in the search box below. Make sure to enclose your phrase in quotation marks. "

"If your site appears in the results, it's listed in the Yahoo! Search Index, and you don't need to complete this form as this request will not be processed."

"If your website is listed in the Yahoo! Index but does not appear to come up in the Yahoo! Search results, it may be because it's not ranking in the top results for those particular searches."

>>>if your site is listed for an obscure phrase or senetence, you are not penalized

so you quoted a sentence that doesnt exsist?

why is this even being debated? sites appear in the serps with a total demotion penalty. they appear for obscure quotes in phrases but for nothing else. Wheres the debate?

my quote:
"if your site is listed for an obscure phrase or senetence"

actual quote:
enter a phrase (5-10 words) unique to the page in the search box below. Make sure to enclose your phrase in quotation marks. "

"If your site appears in the results, it's listed in the Yahoo! Search Index,

Are you kidding. Sorry I did not quote 'word for word' from the get go. Don't let this turn into an ego thing soapy.

I have legitimate questions and I am sure others would like answers too.

ego?....ok you lost me on that one..! anyway back to the point....

you said
According to Yahoo!'s submit for review page, if your site is listed for an obscure phrase or senetence, you are not penalized,

reality >>they say you are included in the index..they DO NOT say you are 'not penalised'...anyone affected will tell you that being in the index does NOt mean you are not penalised...they have given a huge number of sites total demotion penalties while including them in the serps....previuosly those same sites were banned from the index totally....the effect is the same but now your in the index but with no chance of appearing for a geuine search term....

If u search for 'more pages from this site', it shows 2 identical listings for same site.
Is this a penalty?
