Will My Site Get Dropped? Is Sitematch ?

I've just recieved this email.

Basically, they are saying unless I sign up with Site Match my site will immediately disappear from the SERPS. Is this true? Why wouldn't the site maintain it's current #2 spot (for my kw) purely on it's own merits? They wouldn't vindictively go and remove it would they? I thought they'd merely stop visiting every day. Any experience with this?

I assume you are talking about the site match product and not the site match exchange product (feed). Assuming the URL has inbound links and has some signs of quality the main crawl version of the URL will replace the search submit URL version in the results when you drop out of the program. There is always a chance you may drop out and the Site Match program is basically insurance that you wont.

I wouldn't let the site drop if I were you. If you have the rankings, why risk them? It's a small price to pay if you can get the traffic & ROI.

Are they soliciting for renewal of expiring Sitematch listings, or expiring pre-Sitematch Inktomi listings?

If Old-Skool Inktomi listings, I wouldn't worry about it.
