Aside from free hosts like geocities there's also those pseudo domains like widgets.eu.com or widgets.uk.com ... I'm sure Y! have appropriate filters in place.

I had a long time good running site at geocities.com and it gots some decent popularity from the domain as also a lot of other sites relating my topic are arround there. This gave it some kind of authority domain about the topic e.g. in Google. BTW: Geocities is part of Yahoo and therefor I do not think they will filter it. :-)

| Just wondering... given that Yahoo takes into account the popularity of the base domain, wouldn't a well optimized geocities or similar hosted page rank fairly well? |
| I found this exact example this morning. A site with no content, no links, no pagerank with the text : " my homepage is under construction " Ranking in the top 10 for very competitive keyword. The proof is in the pudding.
