| If I am not coming up in the natural Yahoo serps, |
| Do you mean you are paying for SiteMatch? If so, you won't be crawled by the natural spider until you stop that. (un-officially of course) | If I am accepted into the directory, will this mean my site will be spidered and ranked in the serps? |
| Your site will be spidered, and I assume by "rank" you mean "be listed"? I would say yes, as if you make it past a human editor you will generally get past the spider. | As for why we aren't listed in the serps I can't give a definite answer, I always used to do really well in Google |
| How long has the site been up? Also, how many inbound links are showing for you in Yahoo? Just because you are not listed doesn't mean your backlinks will not show.

AFAIK a directory listing will not guarantee a listing in the SERPs, I'd try to identify why you're not already listed before forking out for the directory.

I am in the directory. It took a few tries but they eventually did modify my listing to my new URL. Unfortunately, my new URL has vanished from the Yahoo index...not sure why.

"I can't seem to find a definitve answer to my query" There are no definative answers, it's all in flux like life itself.

No travel site here. Im almost 100% sure if you pay for directory, you will not automatic be placed in yahoo serps.

I have a site that's only in the paid directory that's in the SERPs. However, it's been there long before the big switch.

| The answer to life? "I think therefore I spam ...." but maybe the most relevant to Yahoo is Nietzsche: "Distrust everyone in whom the impulse to punish is powerful!" ;)

My site has been in the Yahoo! directory for over a year. Site is very strong in Google; used to be in the Yahoo! SERPS. Hasn't been found in the Yahoo! SERPS since the Yahoo!/Ink merge. Can't figure it out. Stopped trying. It apppears in my industry Yahoo! doesn't matter much.
