Is this to atracct new directory subscribers as stated by another froum user? (see quote). are they updating there algos? In the past directorie lsitings also appeared in the main results, but the dissapaired last year or so. Any thoughts? | Secondly, Yahoo! track record of shafting Directory subscribers last year (by giving directory results prominent positions, getting a load of signups and then dumping directory results from the SERPs), and then the Inktomi bait-and-switch they did earlier this year shows that Yahoo is not a company to be trusted with your money. |

However, I only see this is in some areas, especially with the smaller, more targeted keywords.

msg:841034 | 8:52 am on Aug 30, 2004 (gmt 0) | I examined some results: search term ranking number for dir listing seo seo web software - 18 website promotion software tools - 1,8,10 web promotion - 1, 4, 5,6,7,10 promotion - 1,4,7,8,9,10 Do you have the same lisitngs? IMHO this is not in favor of theory that more narrow searches (more words) have more dir lsitings in it. From this very small examination i think its still keywords in the dir name itself that give search results with dir category listings in it. What do you think?
