Brief Background

big site with Google PR of 8 - sometimes 7.

Has been Number 1 in Yahoo, Google, MSN, and about every other SE for over 12 months - many for 24 months for our main search criteria.

Have been doing overture sponsored Pay for Performance type advertising for 6 months now.

About mid-march dropped out of Yahoo altogether - even though there is no other quality sites doing what we do. Talk about relevance - you do a search for this criteria - which is to do with the Caribbean - and it brings up sites dealing with Australia and Hawaii - and leaves us out.

After paying annual subscription to be in Yahoo directory - and paying for poverture sponsored listings - and being the largest subscriber site in the Caribbean for what we do - you would think that Yahoo's system would probably at least have us in the top 5.

We were number 1 for 18 months in Yahoo and now nothing!

Why? - the site content hasn't changed and all the other SE's still have us as the most relevant.

So - I decide to pay for Site Match!

And now - still waiting - my site is only coming up when you type it's #$#$% name in and then it is only coming up 13th - it's a complete joke - especially after spending so much money on it.

Can someone either tell me if there is any point continuing with Yahoo's system - when it cant deliver relevancy at all?

Is there anyone I could speak to about this with at Yahoo?

Is there anyone on this board who represents Yahoo?

Brujo,
I looked at your site and you are a SiteMatch customer. Why dont you and others in the same boat contact SiteMatch Support with your problems. You have paid for support and you are entitled to it. I am not a support person and enjoy being on this forum to discuss Search Engines not to handle support issues on my weekends.
I have talked to Brett and he does not want this forum turning into a Yahoo Support forum either. If you have a suggestion or some feedback that is fine but there are other avenues for individual site issues that do not affect anyone else.

sorry for hassling you at weekend.

If Y! and Overture and the likes paid half the attention that we do to customer service I would not even need to post on this forum.

The fact is that I have sent seven emails now to bizex Y! Yahoo support emails - and countless to SiteMatch.

And even telephoned four times now to a contact at Yahoo - abd been left on the phone for over 30 minutes twice.

End Result - big loss of money.

When Yahoo carries on like this - when this kind of actions wouldn't be tolerated in the real world of business - it's no wonder no-one has any faith they will get it right.

If you really read his post, it was not about Site Match, but about the quality/relevancy of the Yahoo! SERPS for his category. Site Match (per your previous posts) is not about relevancy, but inclusion. Discussion of quality/relevancy issues is appropriate for this board.

It seems so funny, in a sick way, that you take your time to castigate someone who is frustrated - frustrated with the quality (or lack thereof) of your search product.

And these are not individual issues. Pan through this board and other boards and you will see the same thing said many different ways.

If the way you judged and interpreted brujo's post is in any way similar to how sites are judged by Yahoo!, I can see why you have problems.

If you want to stop hearing the whining, simply fix the problems and improve your product. Don't take your shortcomings out on your customers.

Whatever it is - it is obviously a personal site problem. Take it up through channels. (hint: we aren't that channel).
