|Yahoo! directory back in action?|
I noticed one of my web sites had an enormous boost in traffic over the past 2 days. It turns out the site has been listed in the Yahoo! directory which is where the increase of traffic is from.
This site has never done particularly well in Google but now gets 94% of search engine traffic from Yahoo / Yahoo directory with Google being 5%.
Interesting thing is, I didn't submit this site to Yahoo. It was launched about 3 months ago.
The site is fairly specific, in the travel sector and there are a total of 15 sites in the category in which google lists it (about 10 levels in).
Anyone else had sites listed in Yahoo directory without submitting it?
I have but not in the last year.
Yes, I've had sites added for free before. You normally get a big boost of traffic right away, because your site is listed as "New" for a week and is given a spot at the top of the directory page.
