So the sitematch thing is already in operations? Wow, so when can we expect an update from Yahoo of their recently crawled sites? :)

So I'm presuming that something should be mentioned in respect to sites previously within Yahoo? Or should everyone just go ahead and submit just in case?

Operafan: This is not SiteMatch. This is a utility to add urls to the free crawl.

Is there a limit to how many we can add? Will this be a permanent link at Yahoo or is this for a limited time? Thanks.

Thanks Tim, also on topic, just got a newsletter stating that Yahoo will no longer develop further ATW & Alta, will use them only as experiments for yahoo search. Will we expect an updated database and usual crawls from those 2 soon to defunct SE's?

Trying to submit web site to submit.search.yahoo.com I got this message: Your submission request was not accepted because: The following resulted when trying to access your document: timeout Please correct and resubmit the form below. What does that mean and how I can correct this if my web site working well?

The Holy Grail here. I'm not a big fan of that only submit root domains instruction though. Site maps exist for good reason. March 4th Test Domain, six months old -- main page has few dozen backlinks, including the three largest directories 10 pages currently in Yahoo 103 not yet in Yahoo Stay tuned.

"As promised at Pubcon the free ADDURL has been launched on the Yahoo! site. It is only available right now directly at: [submit.search.yahoo.com...] You need to log into Yahoo.com to use this service. " yeehh..... i try several times to submit a new URL and here is the answer "Your submission request was not accepted because: The following resulted when trying to access your document: timeout Please correct and resubmit the form below. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Enter the full URL, including the http:// prefix (for example, [yahoo.com)...] of the site you would like to submit. Enter only the top-level page in your site, our crawler will explore the rest of your site from there. We will automatically detect and remove dead links on an ongoing basis. Please expect a delay of several weeks before your URL is crawled. " c.......pppp..... I LOVE GOOGLE

Given that this new submit page will - for want of a better description - be getting hammered, errors are to be expected! Right now though, I'm seeing the success page more than I'm seeing the timeout page - patience is called for people! :) R.

Nice Tim, But you guys are crawling our sites so much at the moment I'm scared you are going to suck the server down the fiber line ;) Tim one question "time scales" how quick from Add Url -> spider -> crawl -> Index.... or are you going to make me work it out. DaveN
