Any Updates on Fears That Y! Might Discount Sites w/Adsense? Haven't Seen Recent Posts on This; Have Heard Stories caveman msg:821734 3:15 pm on Feb 26, 2004 (gmt 0) Two mates of mine have speculated recently that the presence of Adsense on their sites hurt them in the new Y!
These are not newbies, and they've looked at lots of other factors without finding much.
I doubt what they're saying, but as I'm considering adding Adsense to a few sites that do well in Y!, it's top of mind.
Any info on this, beyond wild speculation?

Tim the Y! guy said it isn't a factor. Y! and G do rank sites diffrently, I'd look elsewhere. creative craig msg:821736 3:53 pm on Feb 26, 2004 (gmt 0)
It has hurt them already? I run adsense on several sites and it has not damaged my rankings in several sites covering a wide array of topics. Craig caveman msg:821737 4:25 pm on Feb 26, 2004 (gmt 0)
It has hurt them already? In both cases they saw lower rankings in new Y! than in INK, and at least one felt his site was actually better optimized for Y! than G, where he does really well, so in the absence of anything else, I guess he was grasping a bit.
No matter, I don't buy it anyway...but there is a fierce battle brewing, so I just wanted to check in and hear any recent notes of caution before moving forward with Adsense. (Personally I think the SE's would be crazy to start doing this to each other...deadly spiral, etc.)
'nuff said. Adsense it is - thanks!

I am number one at Y with adsense and not at G for the biggest two word term in my niche. My experience says NO to this. Net_Wizard msg:821739 3:30 am on Feb 27, 2004 (gmt 0)
Nothing to that effect but it is not impossible that this kind of thing could be triggered in the future, depending perhaps on their relationship.
