In an an email to their "online pharmacy advertisements" Yahoo said that due to the article that hit the papers yesterday, Yahoo will be suspending all online pharmacy advertisements this week. Advertizers will receive a refund for anything that they have paid but has not run.

They say that they expect the rest of the "pharmacy advertisements" to be clearedout by the end of the week.

The first blow has trully landed in the "war on online pharmacy's" with the first major strike coming from the mightly fist of yahoo. Some of the words that are already cut-out are (phentermine meridia xenical Tenuate Ionamin) With more to follow. Even (viagra) is gone.

I guess the sky "is"
really falling.......

Yahoo hasn't been showing Overture ads for some of the Pharm keywords for a long long time.

Thanks for sharing that Teeceo.

And the list of drugs added to the "online pharmacy advertisements" goes on: ultram, vioxx, ultram, Levitra, Celebrex, Ambien, and more...........

I guess they really are going to do away with one of there most profitable part of there ad. picture...... And thats your daily update from the frontline on the war on (online) drugs......

your fateful report:

How does this affect information sites? Affiliate links? other kinds of presentation of prescription drugs online, commercial and non commercial?

Also, what affect does it have on sites hosted and operated outside of the US?

I would ask your lawyer. Time to bail on this game IMHO.

Looks like on specific drug searches the Overture listings are gone.
