Link Titles Any hard data? mosley700
I'm wondering if anybody has some facts (as opposed to opinion) on link titles?
<A HREF="http://www.some-cool-site.com" TARGET="_blank" TITLE="Keywords and more keywords">Some-Cool-Site</A>
Title is your friend! ;)
What would be considered a "fact" as oppose to an opinion?
>>facts (as opposed to opinion)
haha, the facts are only known by those who are party to the exact algos that each se uses! most likely only the developers and a limited number of senior execs who make decisions.
opinions are had by most people at WebmasterWorld, some opinions are better informed than others.
my personal opinion is that title attributes along with other w3c recommendations will help your users (with compliant browsers) and as a useful spinoff will also benefit your rankings.
I thought I said that topr8!
Title is your friend.
So succinctly stated
TITLE="Keywords and more keywords"
As you can see
here [ webmasterworld.com] (msg #2), at this very moment, SEs are not using the title attribute in their algo. But it may change in the future. Try to cleverly use keywords there, but mainly thinking in making sense for your users, and not just stuffing a lot of keywords there that are meaningless for them. mosley700
Thanks for your imput, guys. Currently running some tests on this topic - I'll report back if I can find the test pages I put up somewhere... :)
