We are news feed junkies here, and maintain our own RSS/XML news feeds and incorporate news feeds from others on some of our pages..

However i noted this claim from a provider of news feeds on their site..

******************
Benefits of a domaindeleted.com news feed

increases your search engine ranking which helps drive traffic to your site

For the life of me I can't understand how adding a script driven newsfeed from a third party site to your site would increase your search engine ranking?

Just wondering how this can be...

Or is this a frivolous claim?

chiyo,

That's a good question how having a link from your site to theirs will increase your rankings. I tend to think it's more of the other way around due to all the links back to the newsfeed service.

Mystery solved. Went deeper into the site to their FAQ and I found their explanation. Seems they automatically submit your page to the SE's when you create the feed, and that's why they claim in bigger letters at the front of the site that it increases your rankings!

Geezz,, thanks Guys.....
