Ive honestly never heard of ixquick. That wouldn't make me want to cough over $500 for a year. I'd go submit 2 yahoo sites first.

"Ixquick has been rated the world's most powerful metasearch engine. It responds to more than ten million search requests per month." My question is this. Where does it come from? Is it USA based traffic?

Ixquick has been around a long time. It works like zworks.com only better.

just been having a play its seem that if you are list in Excite UK (2), MSN UK (2), Yahoo (3), LookSmart UK (6), AOL (8), Hotbot UK (8) you get a better rank than Excite UK (1), MSN UK (1), Yahoo (2), LookSmart UK (3), AOL (1) because a site is not listed in Hotbot UK yo drop in the listings. I don't mean hotbot but the amount of search engines. is this true Mike Daven

Ixquick uses different SEs for each country. Results are generally good. Traffic is generally sparse. Spotlight prices range from 500$-25$. The latter being no great risk.

I signed up for a spotlight add months ago - didn't do a thing for me.

I signed up for several spotlight ads, and they have been worthless traffic-wise for me at least. It's one of the bigger mistakes I've made $ wise.

I don't have a sponsored box but we are ranked #1 for all our targeted keywords (at least they know, that we are the best :)). They bring in less 0.1% traffic a month. Not worth shelling $25 out for a year even, at this stage.

I spent $150 with Ixquick several months ago. It sends a trickle of traffic, but not enough to justify renewing when the term is up.

From what I recall IXquick is actually based in the Netherlands. For those of you who attended the SE Show in San Jose, you'll find a flyer from IXquick in your bag and/or folder..

FYI This thread started 10 months ago. We purchsed 4 KWs to test. Not much traffic but I'll bet it just kills the MAJOR MERCHANT to see us there. :)
