I try and avoid it - just look every now and then to see what they're up to. I don't mind the new look (not that it's that different) - thanks for pointing it out. I guess the 'portal' subdomain is just while it's in beta (or whatever it is).

Uh. The old style was terrible on dialup. This one is worse. The news article pages are still the old style which takes forever on dialup. I'm on adsl, but love to test :)

The "portal" third level domain seems like an odd addition, in my opinion ruining some decent url branding they had worked hard on. However I think the new look and feel is a mild improvement.
