Sydney, Australia August 3rd, 2004, 10:00pm Yahoo! Australia & NZ, today announced the launch of Yahoo! Local Search. The new product (http://localsearch.yahoo.com.au) greatly enhances Yahoo!s search capability and provides Australian consumers and businesses with the opportunity to find local business listings and maps.

I checked my listing and they had me under a business name I haven't used for 2 years!

Wonder where they got that info?

Try a search for Yahoo North Sydney

How about that - they forgot to list themselves! Maybe they banned themselves? 301 redirect error?

In a mailing list we've had fun comparing the same search in our suburbs on Yahoo versus Sensis. e.g. dentist, barber, etc. Guess who is consistently better? ;)

Sky News just replayed an interview with Yahoo Head of Search Peter Crowe. He said that Aussie businesses can get a free listing for a limited time. ABN required.
