Outlook 2000 Junk eMail "Bug"?
Is there a bug in Outlook 2000 junk email

 6:35 pm on Jul 16, 2002 (gmt 0)

I have a list of junk email senders in Outlook 2000. The automatic filtering where it moves the unread junk email from my inbox to a junk email folder works fine, most of the time.

However, I'm encountering a problem with some emails being flagged as junk and moved. The senders of these emails and/or their domain names are NOT part of my junk senders list. These are people internal to my company who I work with. It does not happen to all of the internal emails, just with a few select ones.

Has anyone experienced this before?

Sounds like you don't have the rules setup properly to distinguish between professional and junk e-mail. Maybe you should look at those first.

I've never been able to make Outlook's junk email handling work consistently. I finally got my own email server and run a server-side spam filtering solution which works great.

I have had the same thing happen. It also happened to my mom using Outlook Express - and she hasn't a clue how to use the rules, filtering, etc.

I rely on Mailwasher to prescreen my messages.

I still get this problem, despite having cleared out my junk & adult senders lists and rebuilding them over time. It ain't overly good when important stuff is potentially heading into the deleted folder.

Unless anyone knows of a reason (& solution) to this, I'll have to keep lowering myself to checking the delete items from time to time...
