seemed like there were quite a few out there with a quick search for "free news feeds". Have you not found one that meets your standards knighty?

Nope, did numerous searches but most either point to the Gaurdian or Moreover.com both of which you have to pay for. I found some techy news but I'm looking for UK national headlines etc.

www.syndic8.com indexes more than 5,000 RSS news feeds and provides info on how to use them. BBC news feeds are available. You still dont have to pay for Moreover, (As of 1 month or so again when i last looked) if you meet their criteria of a non-commercial sire.. They just make that info harder to find.
