I hate to bust certain bubbles here but what if a real global recession is really on the way - how would we survive it - with all the SE's retrenching further & the partnering of SE's like goto & yahoo.An unprecedented global recession - will people still believe in the internet as a tool to market their site or will they just lay low amidst the troubled world?It's now or never grab all the business now or later will never come.Since SEO only came into play in the mid 90's have any experienced the worse ?Just a reflection of things to come.
Well, all the SEO people I know are very good with metrics in general. With recession time, company's are keeping an eye closer on ROI - thus creating more demand for metrics. When trying to get a contract during these times, it will be all about positioning. Since the big tech-bomb, I've noticed an increase in awareness of search engines (upper managements sees that expense as completely acceptable given the return).
The one thing I have learned - to get through hard times - Differentiate!
