Switching from US servers to UK servers Advice required before switch to UK servers heliguy msg:714525 12:29 am on Jun 27, 2006 (gmt 0) Hello,
I am currently hosted on US servers and feature well in google.com searches. I am considering switching to a dedicated UK server as I want to attain more UK customers in the google.co.uk searches. Most of my sales come from the UK anyway.
Can anyone give me an insight into how my site may respond to this switch? Will my good keyword searches switch to the UK index?
Thanks in advance for any help.

It depends a little on your site.
If the site is domain.co.uk, then it will already have many of the advantages of google.co.uk - switching hosts may slightly improve those UK listings, and slightly reduce your placing in google.com
If the site is domain.com, then UK hosting may dramatically improve listings in google.co.uk, without much damage to your google.com placings.
If your target audience is going to be UK, then it's a good move - but not necessarily
very good :) Iguana msg:714527 10:42 am on Jun 27, 2006 (gmt 0)
Make sure that the UK Host really is based in the UK and that its IPs are registered as belonging to the UK.
