Redesign and Google

 2:44 pm on Jun 13, 2006 (gmt 0)

It's been sometime since my site has been the same. It's probably due for a redesign and I have a few ideas for it that will probably, eventually pan out.

I am figuring that the site structure will change and I will lose some rankings are pages shuffled around to a more hierarchical folder structure. That said, old pages will links will be left as is url wise but the content may change to suit the new format.

What are people's experiences with redesigns in terms of ranking again whether it was improvement or a loss?

Should I bother doing this or am I wasting my time and should I just do another site?

Thanks for all your advice ahead of time.
