If 1 article is published just twice on 2 sites will be it be punished?

Is it a reason to consider duplicated if one article is published only two times on different sites?

I see often that Google shows a few duplicate contents on a few sites and then hides the rest...

I am wondering if Google shows both articles in SERPS, will it decrease their ranks? or not.. .
I think that publishing two times is not such big issue as with free articles when they published hundred times :-)

Discalimer, only Google know how it works.

I believe that eventually only one page will survive in Google. But it is not punishment but rather the filter. Simply one is enough for the searchers.

vadim is correct. I have exactly 2 copies of the same article; one was dropped in Big Daddy, the other shows a strong position in the serps.

This scenario was repeated about 150 times on my sites.
