How did I get this referral - mail.google.com/mail/
I haven't seen this before

I got this referral in my logs:

I guess it must have come through Google, or Froogle search. I have lots of widgets listed in Froogle.

What is the system that generates this referral? I would like to see if I can get more referrals like this one.

Maybe I need to sign up for a Google Mail account to see what's going on here...but I don't really want a Google mail account.

Maybe it's a fluke where someone sent my URL to themselves on Google Mail.

Any ideas anyone?

Maybe someone emailed your URL to one of their friends who clicked on it in the mail? Stranger things have happened. :)

I would assume someone emailed your link. I have seen that referral as well. A lot of people are getting Gmail these days.

I wonder if the use of the web search function in Gmail would generate this referral?

These are from links being emailed around. Good sign. Means someone thought the site was worthwhile and told a friend. I like seeing these in my logs.

You can be sure that visitor was very well targeted.

That visitor made a purchase, and so I didn't want to immediatley assume it was an email referral.

Thank you all for your thoughts on that!
