Do sandboxed sites show up for an exact URL search?

I have a site about 6 months old that is at #1 in MSN and Yahoo for most of its keywords. Right now the site still shows all the classic symptoms of the sandbox. However, what I've noticed is that even with a search for "mydomain.com" (with the quotes), I still do not come up at the top (a few directories linking to me occupy higher spots). Is this normal for a site in the sandbox?

The problem is that nobody knows exactly how the sandbox is implemented by Google, or if it even exists at all.

But I have had a site which I thought was sandboxed and didn't show up for its domain name search, the good news is that my site popped into the Google results about 6 months after it was launched.

I hope the same happens for you very soon!
