Yes, because Google listings are free, free traffic will always vanish. That's the game.
>hi can anyone give me suggestions as to why i may have been removed from goole?
i have not changed anything and then suddenly over night gone?
i dont do any naughty stuff, so i am stuggling as to why i have gone?
can anyone help?
Might your server have been down when Googlebot came, or returned incorrect errors? If your site is really clean, this would be the first thing I'd look at.
Here's a good thread to check whenever a site goes missing from a search engine:
Our site disappeared overnight as well. Does anyone know if you can get a report from Google showing why we are being penalized?

Unless you are doing something naughty with your site, assume this was just some sort of technical glitch.
what do you get if type your domain in the search bar on google, does it come in 1st?
i have done it for mine and it comes in 90 positions down?
whats that all about!
Excellent link from Tedster (as always).
I would comment, that my site mostly disappeared recently and after a couple of weeks I got worried.
I made two changes, one of which, I believe solved the problem.
1/ I added a 'charset' meta tag (I know it should have had it anyway).
2/ I added a 'frames breakout' script to every page.
I believe the second action solved my problem!
There are some very 'iffy' people about, prepared to take from others rather than make for themselves.
Stevelibby - our site does not show up at all. If i type site:www.sitename.com into the google search bar, it shows we are completely down and not showing anywhere.
Our adwords are still running and we are going to up our bids to ensure we are visible.
Only things I can think we have done differently: We added a couple of new pages to the site. We do request link exchanges between our site/our directory/their sites.
My webmaster checked the robot txt and it is all correct and fine. However, our server was down a couple of times lately. He seems to think it is a technical glitch by Google and we will show back up within a month or two.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

Have you submitted a sitemap to Google?
It might help.
Reseller - TY for the info. Will do it today. SM :)
Since dropping lots of places the other day in search results i now notice that google is not updating my site as it would normally do and also googlebot has only been coming 3-4 times a day,
howver pr is the same, link backs are the same,
What information can i get from this?
after doing some searching, i have just found a web site that has been removed from the google that i advertise with, could this be the reason that i have been penalised? also google bot is still visiting my web site, does that mean anything?
It is my understanding that google is checking to see if you figured out why you were banned and if you "fixed" your site to their liking.
There is currently some work going on with the Google database. My site has been on and off intermittently for a couple of days now. Try:
and see if you show up under any of them. Also, if you have the Google toolbar go to your main page and check the Google cached version. If you show up in any of these then I suggest you simply wait a few days before panicking.

But we have already done that, on 2nd/3rd Feb. 2005 (:(
He he - reseller I would put the date back to Dec/Nov 2004.
I have a feeling that it is very much connected to the supplemental index and the big big crawl that happened in Nov 04 - hmmmmmm
