I know that G crawls your pages based on input from you to identify changes to your pages. But what about when you add a new page? Do you have to create a new sitemap? Does your sitemap update each time you update your site?

I just re-read the G FAQ's and still don't quite understand. It says to resubmit when your sitemap has changed but it really does not define the change. Do I need to recreate and resubmit when I add new pages?

I have the same question now. I've created a sitmap.xml a month ago. The Googlebot visits it some times per day. But my site has not been fully indexd.
Another problem is that I knew my site has been deep crawled by Gbot("Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; Googlebot/2.1;), but not appeared in the SERP yet.

Yes, regenerate and resubmit your sitemap if you have added pages.
