Google Local Listings
Any clues as to what criteria Google local listings ranked on?

As far as I understand Google Local listings are powered by Yell.com. I currently have a client who is doing reasonable well in the main Google listings but has been questioning the Google Local listings.

As far as I can see they seem to be somewhat eratic. Can anyone shed any light on the kind of criteria these listings are ranked on?

Paul,

They are simply ranked on distance from the town centre although things do get erratic on the "UK only" results. I think there are some teething problems with this TBH.
