|Page Requests Routed Through Google|
Traceroute shows Google

I was reading a blog this morning and there was a problem with pages loading. I did a trace route and the last two hops were through Google.
I didn't realize that Google played such a role in the the architecture of the Internet. Why would a request for a particular URL be routed through Google?

Answered my own question...although the site has its own domain and there was no indication of Google in the whois nameserver info, it is published via blogger which is owned by Google.
