Is your site completely out of the Google index? If you search for your domain name, does it come up?

No, the site is still in Google. Just the folder's index is gone.

I think it's normal right now. My new site seemed to pop in and out in the first few weeks, and eventually got indexed normally. Not sure why, but Google seems to be taking longer for certain sites.

At least you're in the index. I can't even get in. :(

Is this a common indexing process? Or has my site been penalized? |
| It sounds like the regular bouncing in and out that happens whenever any pages first get listed. Give it a week or two to settle down. Your site hasn't been penalized.

I had the same problem - I submitted. The sitemap was indexed then about a week later all the pages started to rank then last week the entire domain went MIA. I figured I was banned for adding too many pages at once
