Is there anyway to change your domain name and still retain your rankings in google as well as page rank (PR)? I have been in business for 4 years now and see that it will be long term so I think I should change the domain name so it is more user friendly.

You will not keep your same Page Rank if you change domains. Only way to keep it is by having each web site that links to your old domain to link to the new domain. If you move to a new domain there is a chance you will be in the Sandbox and won't rank for nothing, not even if you had the same amount of backlinks, etc.

You are probably right. I am better off just building a new site from scratch, there are no shortcuts are there with optimization.
