Google Page Rank Transfer from Yahoo Dir

If my site is in a Yahoo Directory, does the google page rank from that directory page transfer to my page? Is Yahoo an "Authority" site? Is it worth paying the $299 for a Yahoo biz listing if for nothing else than the google page rank you might get?

After this PR update it should be clear that PR is passed from the Yahoo Directory. Check out sites in categories where PR has artifically dropped because of inconsistent linking (capital letters in some cases, lower case in others).

Stevb is right. The following comment does not apply to him.

Geez, you people who doubt me need someone to do your homework? I can't believe that I answered this question way back and you guys still don't get it.

Take a look at the Yahoo India directory mirror, it features direct links without redirects. Getting into the Yahoo directory will pass PR from the mirrors. Period. End of discussion.

I was referring to Yahoo.com directory listings.

India does not have the same link syntax.

I see no reason india Yahoo directory wouldn't pass PR.

As long as the link is recorded in Google backlinks as a valid link it passes PageRank.

I have not yet seen evidence they are removed from backlink data in Google, so a Yahoo listing should count quite good.

Jesh, can we get someone to do a vote! For petes sakes!

Please someone allow us to add a vote option on here or allow someone to add a link to a direct vote, I think this would help, title it "Adding Your Site to Yahoo! Directory - Would You Benefit? Yes or No"
No joke, can someone please do this.

Paying $299 to Yahoo doesn't seem wise at all to me. My sites search results used to be mostly Google followed by Yahoo by a good margin. However, in the last 6 months my Yahoo results are now suddenly 50% more than Google, and my Google's numbers haven't changed. I can't believe how much I'm getting in Yahoo without paying a dime. And some of my very competitive keywords are exceptionally high, such as one being as high as #4.

I'm only getting about 1,000 searches a day on my site total, but I do consistently get about 4,100 unique visitors per day.
