Google Free SiteSearch - not indexed?

I've been trying to sign up for the "Customizable Google Free WebSearch plus SiteSearch".

Step 1 of the sign-up process asks you to specify your domain name (for SiteSearch). Here's the response I get when I submit the form:

-------------------------------------------------------------------

"There are no pages in our index for "blahblah.com"*
* We cannot perform SiteSearch on this domain(s).
Please remove/change the domain(s)entered, or select WebSearch only, by leaving the domain(s) field blank."

-------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm getting the same results with just about every web site I maintain. Individual pages for all the domain names I tried definitely show up in a normal Google search. They are crawled by Google each month and many have respectable PageRanks.

Anyone else here ever experience this?

Did you ever hear back about this?
I've got the same problem.

Thanks,
grover

Hey grover_c,

I emailed Google's customer service and here's their reply...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thank you for your note. We're aware that webmasters are unable to
register for Customizable Google Free WebSearch. We apologize for the
inconvenience this is causing and assure you that we're working to resolve
this problem. Please check in again soon.

Regards,
The Google Team

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, I'm glad to know that they are aware of the problem, at least. Only wish I knew how close they might be to fixing the problem.

I guess I'll just keep checking back there, as suggested (just tried again--still not taking my domain names).
