Which one of you owns the #1 result for Vincent Van Gogh? The site apparently couldn't handle the extra traffic of people clicking on the Google logo today....

| Yes, such a shame because otherwise it's quite a good site. It has loads of JPEGs of Van Gogh's paintings. Do google pre-warn these sites that they're going to be front-page listed?

skipfactors: Which google website? I could not find this on any of the local google website I checked. Google.com redirects to print.google.com though which I never checked before. It is really cool. oddsod: The same for the sponsored links, in the morning there were 8 of them, now there is only one!

| Unlikely. Going by the current state of the algo the top 10 places could be taken by completely different sites by this evening :) And even Google probably doesn't know who they'll be ;)

I wonder how much extra traffic the top 3 sites would get in one day if they are linked from the Google logo that way. The mind boggles. "vincent van gogh" is not a particulary competitive k/w either with just over one million results showing.

Thanks to google the whole city was crowded yesterday ;) (i live 3 minutes from the van gogh museum in amsterdam) Just a joke offcourse, for all poor webmasters here: Van Gogh did not even sell 1 painting during his life. Maybe your website is also famous when you are dead ;)
