two urls - same content - only one crawled
will it be bad

Dear friends,

For last two years we have worked very hard to develop a site called bluewidgetbigurl.com . The content is top class , even newspapers covered it , google yahoo and msn(and other SEs) also honoured it by rewarding top SERP positions.

Now we want to do TV advertisements and brand building (offline), this big url (bluewidgetbigurl.com ) will not help us in building an effective brand. We got bwidget.com and now the problem is developing content and building community (like forums e.t.c).

We are thinking of making a mirror site but bwidget.com will be not be crawled by SEs as we will stop it(through robots.txt ofcourse).

We donot have problem if Big G or Big Y bans bwidget.com as we are making it for offline marketing.

Is there some risk with bluewidgetbigurl.com insight of SEs? I donot want to take any risk with this site as this is giving a very good traffic and is having very good content(very informative).

Please advice before I take this big step.

My advice would be to have bwidget.com simply forward them to your established superlong URL. bwidget.com will likely never get indexed and it shouldn't (unless I'm mistaken) penalize the main site for dupe content so long as you don't use a 302.

Thanks but I donot want them to confuse with two urls .. I just want them to be there on bwidget.com
