Google writing Descriptions?
Google description text not found on site.

I have a 3+ year old site in google that I just noticed today has a description which appears no where on the site itself. Have I just missed this or is it something new? Is google now reviewing sites and determing in their own words what the site is about. They actually did a good job.

Normally, Google will use either the META description (if all the search words match it) or just parts from the page (if not).

Are you seeing completely different text? If so, does it match the Open Directory description?

Found it in open directory. First time I have seen that.

There's another thread in here somewhere commenting on that.
