Possible to get #1 in google.com when site is hosted in UK? baron13 msg:748402 3:50 pm on Feb 16, 2005 (gmt 0) Hi, I have a website which is hosted on a server in the USA and now I want to switch to a hosting company in the UK. My site is #1 for a top keyword. If I will have new DNS servers pointing to my site, is it possible that google will not list me in google.com (us version) anymore?
Thanks for your help.

Unless you did something extremely crazy your ranking should not change at all plus you will also go to #1 in .co.uk.
Insofar as I am aware a google.us defaults straight to google.com.
We are hosted in the UK and rank #1 for both .com and .co.uk for 1,000+ keywords etc.

There is no U.S. search on Google (except the obscure [ ...] The google.com is just worldwide. google.com
The U.S. is still a relatively new country founded by some religeous guys in a boat. No doubt they will qualify one day for their own Google search. ;)

We have certainly be listed #1 for some things in google.com even though all our servers have been (until a couple of days ago!) based in the UK.
I'm hoping that our US-based mirror will help, but it doesn't seem to be necessary.
