64. hasn't been by for 2 days here either.
Last time Google Bot seen at 1-Mar...and I start to worry...
Mon Mar 3 18:35:02 GMT was the last one I saw.
Freshbot was cruising through my site on the morning of the 3rd, EST.
i had more than 300 yesterday march 3, none today march 4
After several days of hammering, not a knock since evening of the 2nd.
Is it true that the update won't start until the Freshbots stop?
PS. Can a mod correct the spelling in the subject please?
March 3 6:27 am Been hit three days straight. Waiting to see about today...I make massive changes to index page every day. Learned from you guys.
No bot here for at least 22 hours.
Kind of strange, I admit.

>I make massive changes to index page every day
I don't know how necessary that is. I never make changes to the index, and despite being a PR5 the freshbot comes basically everyday.
listen for the far off rumble as googleguy walks towards the "big button".
<edit> Last sighting: 03/Mar/2003:06:54:32 -0500 EST </edit>
Saw this one once today:
2003-03-04 19:58 22.214.171.124 - Googlebot/2.1+(+http://www.googlebot.com/bot.html) - - 2
2003-03-03 18:51 126.96.36.199 Googlebot/2.1+(+http://www.googlebot.com/bot.html) - -
All times are GMT. I have been getting hit for 3,000 - 20,000 pages per day all month. This is pretty much silent for me.
Last seen 3-3-2003 (yesterday) for me with 4098 requests on a PR5. (PR may be higher next update, many new links)
Other fairly new sites of mine (low or not yet ranked PR) had:
887,221,364, and 121 hits.
It was a busy bot yesterday for me, thats 5691 hits.
[Edited for PR clarification]
I am still showing a cached snapshot of one of my sites as 12/22/2002. Anybody think of a reason? I am getting visits from Googlebot/2.1 (+http://www.googlebot.com/bot.html)every day, but the cached snapshot doesn't change.
Last visit: 2003-03-03 13:33, 43 hits (definitely slowing compared to previous days).
Also a new site of mine with just PR5 on the home page and not too much PR aside from this has experienced the same pattern as my main site PR6+ (been a 7, 2 out of 4 months). Lots of pages pulled down all month - 200K - and now pretty much silent.
None since yesterday morning. The two days before it bombed me with 1,846 file requests, compaired to never geting over 100 per day before that! That was two days ago and only 59 of the files are listed, the ones they only looked at before two days ago.
It visited my site tonight:
188.8.131.52 - - [04/Mar/2003:22:04:34 +0000] "GET /index.html HTTP/1.0" 200 1871 "-" "Googlebot/2.1 (+http://www.googlebot.com/bot.html)"
I just saw one, too!
over 400 pages today by 184.108.40.206-Googlebot/2.1 (+http://www.googlebot.com/bot.html)
I've given up on an update anytime soon...I just hope this delay means that the new DMOZ dump will be included in this update ;-)
Get hit every day... still no 'fresh' date though... :(
The 4th was really quiet but 64. is back today (about average traffic). Latest was:
05-03-03 10:05:44 220.127.116.11
Which is Sydney time (GMT +10)
Last one seen on 2003-03-04 17:04:00 EST in one of my sites.
It was the only one as of today. This is the only day where I received just one visit from freshbot. I guess this means someone is about to press the BIG red botton :-)
Back again, also here in Europe :-),
2003-03-05 01:12 AM Central European Time
Yep - here we go again.
Freshbot started about an hour ago to grab some robots.txt, some index.html and some other random pages of ours.
Only one hit today, it grabed the robots.txt
2003-03-04 21:41:11 crawler11.googlebot.com
Plenty of hits yesterday
Just got hit by freshie too. However, someone posted last month that fresh tags were seen at the time of the update, so possibly this doesn't necessarily mean the update is still days off.
