|The Subtle Knife|
same here some are showing PR 8 (got I really got high, then I realised it was too good to be true)
and a refresh I get PR 3.
Annoying to the extreme! If it was Aprils Fools day, fair enough....
hi lazyz and the_s._knife,
this behaviour seems to be connected with an upcomming google update. related thread [webmasterworld.com].

Is an agreed indicator for the next big update..?
looks like we should all check our sites, and get as many links as we can then..!
>>looks like we should all check our sites, and get as many links as we can then..!
This will only help you for the March update not the February one.
Hmm. Don't usually see big gigunzic hops like that, though... Maybe I'm completely wrong as usual. :)
A few minutes ago, msn had a grey bar and no backlinks!
It's now having a PR4 and the search for "site:www.msn.com -xxyyzz" is giving some really odd SERPs.
This could be it...
Drum roll mistro................
PR0 for MSN here as well
So it damn well should be!
>PR0 for MSN here as well
Well deserved IMAO! :)
Am I the one who started the drum roll this month? - LOL
msn is back with a grey bar, are they banned? That would be the year 2003 scoop!
MSN - has been talked about before [webmasterworld.com]
Yeah, you're right! I didn't spot that toolbar thread...
Couldn't have happened on a better day, Forbes places Mr. Gates on top again. Catch him Oprah.
I hope it means that MSN is banned :)
It would serve them right for filling my hotmail account with Spam.
I am nothing odd. Have checked the Toolbar PR periodically throughout the day. I really like using this site for indicators of when the update is occuring.

[edit reason] No tool links please [/edit]
seeing pr10 on a site launched 2 weeks ago.. now that IS nice :)
Ok here's what i'm seeing
I saw in another thread about the directory that the pagerank of the page first visited stayed there when you went to a page with a greyed out pagerank. So my guess is it's just another toolbar glitch that indicates the update is imminent.
So if i go to google.com and then to my new site it gives me a PR10 for that site!
::::I hope it means that MSN is banned happy!

Normally i would agree with you, but i just checked my listing on msn and i am #1 over there of my search words.
I am even above the official site!
so right now i almost like msn.
me too, my not-for profit site is MSN.ca anyways, number one on my most important keyword, and on the G I barely piggyback in on somebody else geo site, packing a PR0.
I think they're trying to suck up
I really hate to say it, but there's absolutely stinkin' nothing untoward going on here in the SERPs or with PR that I can see using any of the numerous tools I've collected. Located UK. Don't know why, I'm usually pretty unmoved by the Google update (sometimes miss it altogether!) but this one has me right on the edge of my seat.

I think after Google has updated I will have to go in and change some stuff so the Official page can take back it's #1 spot.
I really should be #2 - #5 not #1.
I just thought it was kinda funny.
I would say it is strange.
I had a gray bar for the last 2 months, today i was seeng a pr6 and pr7 and now it is back to gray. I hope this is agood indication to what to come.
MSN showing up PR 3 now with no backlinks.
Right now I'm noticing any site that had a grey bar before is now a full green bar. I checked a few new sites and a banned site. I wonder if this is some sort of pre-update weirdness.

MSN is popping back and forth from PR0 to it's usual PR9 for me. But my own sites aren't showing any pre-dance activity. In fact one just got a Feb 27 fresh date.
msn is showing a five for me! Maybe Google can't make its mind up!
I'm getting a white bar (much worse than grey bar) for MSN right now. I'm not seeing anything with my new pages inheriting Google's PR 10 when I go from Google to them.
Occurs to me I have parked domains that are behaving as www.msn.com. Maybe thats all they've done. Of course nobody links to my alternative. I doubt thats true of MSN.
