Backlinks= 642,000 for Yahoo. No update yet. It's common for listings to bounce around a bit on www2 and www3 but when the backlinks start changing the game is on.

I have a new site that has been showing PR0 all month but now shows PR3, so something seems to be up!

Not that Google would want to mess with the minds of WebmasterWorld members, but it would be amusing for them to keep Yahoo links constant through the entire update and watch the zillion posts that would be spawned. At first there would be widespread disagreement as to whether the update was underway, followed by intense discussion as to the statistical probability of Yahoo's link count being the same when everthing else changed... :)

Easycall Usually pagerank is the last thing to change at the end of the update (unless you've modified your hosts file to access www2 pagerank). So unless something has changed this month at Google I wouldn't get too excited.

>>Not that Google would want to mess with the minds of WebmasterWorld members Actually, Google messes with the minds of all those people that check the datacenters and follow the little green bar. If they disallowed access to the datacenters and turned the little green bar off, life would be easier. ;)

After reading this thread, I just did a search on www2 and www3 for one of my favorite keyword combination. There is a single change in the first 100 results: one notably spammy site went down from position 11 to position 16. This same site used to be # 1 and #2 a couple months ago. I find that interesting. I have seen something similar for another site that uses doorway pages and loads of invisible text. That second site is not totally disappearing, but it is sloooow-ly sinking lower and lower in the SERPs. I am enjoying watching that. :)

I am not saying that this has anything to do with the update, but that it is perhaps a hint of a slight improvement against spam.

Hi everyone, I just checked my access logs and they are chock full of google crawlerbots from the 27th. Yahoo backlinks are still constant, but my site's being crawled anyway. all the best, Jeremy

| As a Mac user who's never even seen a green bar and has no idea of the PR of my site, I'm here to tell ya, it's not.
