It would be opportune, but with the recent crawl schedule, something tells me it is going to be a bit delayed this month - maybe next moth actually.

Yep, I got hit by Freshbot today and, correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't it usually stop about 4/5 days before the update? Nick

February doesnt have as many days either, so I think it might be early March.

That would be a good start to March and all I would need is it to get alot warmer in New York!

Brett may have a point. The deep crawl was later than usual this month. This might point to the update being later than usual.

Nick W is right. When you don't see the freshbot/freshdates anymore, then an update is condition "Red." (update imminent).

I haven't been seeing the freshbot on a few sites that always get hit. It's been a couple of days. My guess is the update will occur this weekend. Brett, although right about most things did predict last months update to be Valentines Day :)

If they don't break the month by doing it in March then thurs/fri would fit with how they were doing it pre 'holiday' style.. Nick

Last month was the superbowl update -> so, if they do it early March, that would be 'march madness update'... The 3 before that were holidays, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and then New Years. March Madness would make this the 2nd sports one...so, if the trend continues, what comes after that - the kentucky derby?

Amen to that, hightraffic10, let's have it a little warmer in NYC but I suppose we won't get that lucky. More likely it will snow again! The thing that puzzles me is that it isn't so much that the crawl was late this month, I experienced a normal deep crawl at the usual time of the month. It is more that the crawl was quirky. It seemed to suddenly stop and then days later pick back up again. Couple that with unusually deep freshbot crawling and the new IPs in use, and you have to wonder what Google has up their sleeves this time around. Actually that's why I'm going nuts waiting for the first sign that the band is tuning.

Nice page Nick but surely the PR should be higher. Maybe Welsh sites will be richly rewarded this time. I think the update will be today. I have nothing but ice-thin evidence for this but all the knowledgeable types are predicting it won't be till March and Google doesn't like to be predicted.
