I am seeing no backlinks for yahoo or dmoz on www2 or www3, also serps are changing. Is this it?

Thanks for that link steveb but I do not think the recalculated pagerank has shown up there.

Anyone else think so?

<added> Just double checked two sites that should have seen simple PR increase from 3 to 4. There was no change. That can't be right.</added>

Hmm, I have a significant drop in pages indexed on both my sites: from 329 to 210 on one, and from 245 to 191 on the other. (This leads also to a drop in backlinks, some of which are internal.) Is anyone else seeing a significant drop of this kind? I'm not aware of anything I changed this month that was significant.

I don't believe you will see any page rank changes until a full update.

Am I right guys?

Now is not the time to watch the dance.
Update like crazy before the impending googlebot visit.

I can tell you for a fact that Googlebot must have done some significant deepcrawling middle of Jan. because it found a lot of inbound links to me added Jan.2-19.

Nope, it's the real thing. I think they accidently swithed www2 and www3 over just a little too early in the update process.

I don't think this is it. EVERY WEEKEND there are slight differences between www1,2,3. Ive noticed this for months.

I've gotten real page rank on some new pages (I use that posted thingee to get pagerank from the Mountain View database), and an increase in pages that should show an increase in PR... but I'm not sure directory-ex is showing changes.

>>but I'm not sure directory-ex is showing changes.

Compare your category with directory-sj and you should be seeing a difference in the rankings.

The pages that moved up in the directory have also moved up in the SERP's for the terms I follow.

Hello and welcome to the January update. Your page rank won't be updated until the update is through except for on the Google Directory. Which brings up my next point. On this thread [webmasterworld.com] in messages 60, 61, and 62 I announced the update according to Lazerzubb's theory of the Google directory showing changes before backlinks change. In lieu of T-shirt a subscription to WW would be just fine. Or a t-shirt.:)

rfgdxm1,

why do you think it's not the update?

I hope you are right, new results are not good for me. I was surpassed by several SEO spammers. :(

I went from 436 to 554 backlinks, and I've improved in all the SERPs I've tested so far. But we all know not to depend on them. There is a reason they call it the "dance".

Sites I updated two to three weeks ago are not showing up as being updated. When was the crawl for this index?

Yes I see the changes in directory-sj.
<pout>

And powdork, page rank is being updated all over the place. It may not settle where it is, but it probably will.

For a moment I saw fresh 25ths for one of my pages on www-ex. In next search they are away. And then back again. This is crazy!
