I have a site thats been waiting for 4 months for re-inclusion after a duplicate (mirrored for domain name reasons) ban... Every month I get really excited because Googlebot hits it really hard at least twice a month and then... Nothin... Is there another way?

A ban and a penality are 2 different things. What do you guys see in the PR bar? What do you see when you try link:yourdomain.com?

I get "current page is not ranked by google" when I mouse over an all grey PR bar. We know we have dmoz link, link from two PR6 sites and a bunch of PR5.... Link: www.ourdomain.com turns up nothing, nada, zip, zilch. We originally mirrored it because we wanted a corporate site at our main url and move the main url content to a new url. We had the two running mirrored for a month while we migrated everything.

The only thing you can do is wait for the bot and entice the bot. The best thing to do is get busy building new content so that the bot has something new to munch on.

Thats what I've been thinking for the past four months- allready in November the googlebot has generated over 3,000 visitor sessions and 7,000 hits... So thats not it- I think it might be a manual ban.

I've seen many of the dupe content situations from vanity domains vs trademark vs kw domains. All legit stuff, but the problem comes when you want to do something different with one of those domains. From what I've seen, it can take quite awhile for the dupe content detector to "cut you some slack" before dropping any automated dupe content penalty.

Macguru - I get a Page Rank of 3/10 but no results for link:domain.com. - This tells me that its a penalty not a ban. But if I do a search for allinurl: domain.com I get the default page (last visited on the 7th Nov) and no "similar pages" option - this tells me its banned as we've gone on a heavy reciprocal link campaign in the last two months and the site is listed in Dmoz and Yahoo...
