This may help:
1/ keep your eye on www2 for now but dont get too excited as it will change for a few days and takes about a week before they appear on www.
3/ PR changes about the time when the results move to www
4/ about 7 days ish
5/ links on www2 will be the ones that are true for the next month...again they may change slightly.
We're finally there...
I really really really really hope that this is not final and that things are going to change. A complete disaster with all my top positions gained in last update now being replaced with unrelated or spam. boo hoo what will I do :(
Geez, Helpmebe1, would you cheer up a little?
Oh Yeah! Went for 58 to 11 on my most important word. FINALLY! Hope they find all my new links.
This is almost as exciting as the Saints going 3-0-0! But nothing can be that golden. Except 4-0-0
My newest update showed up in the www google directory and then vanished quickly. Then, my old cache version (from August) appears in the www2 and 3 directory. What?
And ,How long does it take to get from www2 and 3 to www?
about 2-7 days apparently see main thread for more info
Read this excellent thread
And your questions about the update will be solved
If it holds like this then all my sites have done well as far as I can tell! :)
My main site is going up in the serps!
Can't wait to see what page rank will settle at.
Can I just say I love this Webmaster site. The update is definitely up and running. Thanks to this site and all the useful advice and "tricks of the trade", our site looks like it'll cream the (much larger) competitors. I have seen HUGE leaps on all major keywords when I look at www2 and www3. I need a drink!
Thanks a lot to anybody who has written any posting about Google. I have made many changes in the last month especially concentrating on links and keyword density. And it WORKS!
The Google directory is not updated though. Is it possible to get an updated before the new index is rolled out to www?
Sorry, it's not a complete update but they have updated some.

Not at all chuffed ! :(
After several months of diligent tweaking following review of the info found here we had managed a gradual increase in our position for our main keyword from 110th on the list in April up to 12th last month. Was optimistic that we would go even higher this month, and then what happens .... we dissapear from view ! Can't see our main page at all; a secondary page is 273 on the list for our main keyword.
Thinking about a career change to something less stressful ....
As far as I can see..
- keyword(s) in url still works because of frequent take-over into anchortext
- heavy interlinking of separate sites still works and goes undetected
Ann's happy WHEEE says is all!
Linkpop up from 394 to 412!
Many search terms from whatever page to page #1!
My boss says I'm a genious!
I say: it's gonna cost ya! :)
When it began one of my phrases was www/www2/www3
I'd better go to pub...

Go ahead Chris, don't be shy! :)
I know the update has not "settled," but has anyone ever seen a big change in their listings from the beginning of the www2 to the end? In other words, I was #3, now #15, wondering if I should find a cliff yet or give it a couple more days...;)
Sorry to post again, but this has got to change! We NEVER had a problem with being #1 for our company name, and now we are 21! We have tons of people talking about us ABOVE us...<shaking head>
Anyone want to talk me down?
has anyone with new listings in www2 and 3, seen their site in www yet.
once you are in with google, will yahoo include you also? Or do yo have to submit to them too.
I see that the meta description tag has now become a lot more important. If I search on my major term, my meta description shows up and no snippet - then ODP description. If I search on my major term plus a word (like 'uk') which is not in the meta description then the normal snippet which includes all the words shows up. I've checked and found this on many sites where previously a snippet would show. Previously meta descriptions were only used where there was no other text to index. This time it is very different!
>I know the update has not "settled," but has anyone ever seen a big change in their listings from the beginning of the www2 to the end?
I saw that too while I was browsing at www3 the results count was up.
At Last we can start to see what we have acheived for all our hard work. A site I manage had 286 backward links, now showing 122 in Google 2+3, however there are a few new kinks with high PR now showing. The site seems to have lost all credited backward links from deep pages within the site.
with a PR 4 are not be credited as backward links in this update, any reasons for this? The pages are all in Google 2+3 when searched for.
I would also make a suggestion to GOOGLE, when we check backward links, would it not be possible to have the list start with the highest PR page links?
>once you are in with google, will yahoo include you also? Or do yo have to submit to them too.
If you refer to the SE results, eventually sometime after the dance the new Google results show up at Yahoo, which uses Googleized SERPs. If you mean the directory, Google uses the ODP. Yahoo directory is completely different.
I have learned a lot from this board. I didn't know about www2 and 3 until now. What I am wondering is if there are similar ways to check other search engines.
I used to be #2 on a search "XXXX YYYYYYY", #11 on "YYYYYYY", and #35 on "XXXX". I'm still #2 on "XXXX YYYYYYY", but I'm now (ie, on www2/www3) #34 for "YYYYYYY" and #103 on "XXXX". Anyone else seeing anything similar?
I've also lost #1 on my "firstname" vanity search :-(.
On www2 and www3, when I perform a search for link:www.mydomain.com I am returned with *no* results..... Is this bad news to come?
I am seeing several off-topics sites as well. This one in particular shoews up under several keywords and phrases where it does not belong.
Check out the category listing which it says it is in and you won't find it there on either DMOZ or dir.google.com
