Does Google read meta tags?

Hi I have basic question - does google read meta tags (meta description and especially meta keywords)? I always use them on my html pages but it seems to me it's only source of spamm, no revelancy. Thanx Emko

No, google supposedly does not use those because they can be so spammie.This thread might be of use to you: Now, about those META Keywords tags ... [webmasterworld.com]
