Heh, I've done that on the phone before, or when I meet people at parties: I've never got around to having business cards printed and email addresses are hard to remember, whereas people will usually remember first names.

>a link to a Google search

I'd never have thought of that, what a good idea for a sig, "Come visit us on the web." I have used Google for references. Sent a link to the search with which site to click on, said to just click on the email link on the site and ask the site owner whatever they want.

Thats really funny

I've seen some casino guys include a re-direct via their Yahoo! listing in an attempt to increase their "click popularity" for what it was worth.

danny, you are probably the only person out there who can be googled just using your first name.

With my first name I get about 748,000 results :).

I like the link idea, but what do you do when your competitors beat you on SEO and you slip to second page?

Optimize your <noframes> section and revamp the page title. ;)

Amazing! Danny really does rank #6 in a Google search for "Danny"
That is even a one word term... I'm impressed!
(O.K., so what if sometimes I'm easily impressed...) :)

Hope the person is extra careful not to upset an SEO.

I'll be hiring the ones with the "i'm feeling lucky" links as their sig, well, wouldn't mind!

I'm sure if google started seeing these they'd be real tempted to hand tweak the results...

JustTrying: Damn it, you've just proved it doesn't work - though maybe a search engine forum (or one on Javascript or Christian art) isn't the best place to try it.

I can be Googled (and Alta Vistaed) on my first name. Not sure that's what I want people to see of me, but it's been that way for a long time. Number one in Google!

Oops! Sorry about that Mr. *** :)

I "assumed" that you were the "other" Danny; this being a Search Engine type forum and all... Yet, you and I both know what they say about assuming... Well, this has proved that it's just not a saying ;)

HINT for potential forum posters: Before you post anything about any individual forum member, make sure to check their profile to ensure that you are talking about the correct person!
