The next update date: 21st July?
Natalie

msg:195139

Does this sound right "Google Dance begins 21st July?", the chart on webmasterworld seems to point to this date as the next possible start date. Are there any rules as to when the dance may begin?

you do all realize that you are completely nuts.

all these re indexing(refuse to use the other word) threads do is give voice to the panic and push my exciting scripting/programming/code fixing threads down. Drives an honest programmer nuts.

hehe ;)

jatar_k,
Driving a programmer nuts is a REAL SHORT TRIP.
On the other hand, if you have a way to make some money off of the anxiety index around these posts right now, you could parse your way to a fortune.
Or you could try marketing. We're way stable (grin).

On second thought Dpeper, you are now breaching a half dozen copyright and trademark laws and quite possibly implicating WebmasterWorld.

Well not meaning to implicate webmasterworld by all means ill take full credit, but i would fail to ever see some such as google going after something that is in good humour and isnt even deragetory too the company especially when ill only leave it up for a day or two tops.

This is the source of thing that Brett didn't like about the profile image... it could be misused by members infridging on copyright.

By being placed in the forum, WMW could be held liable.

But it isnt on webmasterworld's web site, you cant be responsible for content that is on a completly diffrent server that you have no control over.

Hi

I forgot to mention.....

Before the google dance starts, we have 30 posts announcing the start..... and then 30 'old timers' complaining about the previous 30 posts.....

Hey guys, if there's ever anything that raises a question that's related to WmW rules or policy, instead of "handling it" in the thread, contact a moderator or admin, or both, and point to the thread and post in question.

Every forum has a moderator, some have two or more, and there are several admins. We have a protocol for dealing with things, and issues are generally kept to private communication. That way everything is done according to house rules and the threads stay on topic.

Thanks for the concern, though.

Weblamer,

No offense, but I think you're misinterpreting the data. While the dance may have started around the same time you pressed the button, it's obvious that that doesn't actually start it. Googlebot doesn't get jiggy until that 30th post. I mean, EVERYBODY should know that by now.

It's just sheer coincidence that you pressed the button close to the time the 30th was posted.

I will give you credit for that all important 30th post. Great job!
