Google directory seems to finally have been updated correctly.
Given the large amount of moving around that the serps are doing, with some of the main datacenters offline does this mean they might actually be......

I've just lost inexplicably 30% of my trafic (170 unique visitors/day).
After killing the tech support from my ISP, the servers are working in the parameters, but my trafic is lower and lower.
About 2 hours ago i've discovered that my partener has different results in google for the same keywords and the pages from my site are ranking different.
Also my main competitor is feeling the same thing but i'm not sure ...
So i ask you is google dance time AGAIN?
Sorry for my poor english

Directory seems to be reverting to the older version occasionally, but the correct one does come back eventually... let's hope so anyway.

Yes my PR on the directory is also updated for my main sites.
10:57 am on Dec 9, 2004 (gmt 0)
is the update complete? i am not seeing some categories updated...
11:01 am on Dec 9, 2004 (gmt 0)
I noticed PR update in the directory yesterday.
Lets hope toolbar PR starts changing!

The results for my site are changing by the hour...
11:12 am on Dec 9, 2004 (gmt 0)
Directory updated last week and there seems no change since then.
I'm not seeing the green bar change on any of my sites/pages. DCs?
11:15 am on Dec 9, 2004 (gmt 0)
I see two different sets of SERPS which are changing around about every three hours!
1:23 pm on Dec 9, 2004 (gmt 0)
Can't see any toolbar pr changes here. if the directory is anything to go by then I am in for a good update :)
11:22 pm on Dec 9, 2004 (gmt 0)
I don't see an update in the categories that I follow..
11:54 pm on Dec 9, 2004 (gmt 0)
I have been seeing different sets of serps per kw today too.
12:14 am on Dec 10, 2004 (gmt 0)
this thread relates to a PR Update.
I have noticed today in the directory that my sites and those of my competitors have all taken one step back. Im in Spain.

Hard to say anything about it since it keeps reverting to an older version, but there definitely is an updated Directory coming up with the pagerank accurate/corrected.
12:07 pm on Dec 10, 2004 (gmt 0)
Why say " accurate / corrected " , have you observed something from the flashes youve been given?
12:19 pm on Dec 10, 2004 (gmt 0)
I took it to mean "new".
3:36 pm on Dec 10, 2004 (gmt 0)
I've lost 40 000 visitors since Monday!
This seems like a desaster from Google.
I get totally screwed results for my keywords...

Because surely an recent PR calculation / reading has to be more accurate than one three months old :-)
(or however long it has been)

My PR in the directory has dropped but also that of ALL of my competitors. Therfore I am guessing there was a downgrade somewhere e.g. in DMOZ or something. I was quizzing SteveB to see if the post meant he had seen something along those lines.

I think your scenario is fairly unique.
We have gone from a PR6 back to a 7 where it should be :-), so there has definitely not been a uniform decrease.

Two of the four most recent Directory PR updates (not including this one) included botched PR... things that were simply mathenatically impossible. This update corrects that.
A drop or rise for a whole category is normal.

OK - I've got an interesting one here...
Our site is featured in 2 (very) separate DMOZ categories. We're showing PR 5 in one and an increased PR 6 (based on "Order by pagerank" option) in the other!
The site shows PR 6 on the Google Toolbar at the moment. I can't imagine how it could go down to a PR 5, we've been expecting to go up to a 7 sometime.
I can only presume this is some bug...
7:32 pm on Dec 10, 2004 (gmt 0)
Perhaps a datacentre update issue.
7:40 pm on Dec 10, 2004 (gmt 0)
You are probably seeing the old version, which is an example of how it has been screwed up. I'm being served an old version right now too.

Is it possible the directory update has only been applied to site previously not in the directory?
One of my sites which has never gained PR in the toolbar (domain purchased around march/april) which should have gained at least 6 long ago - is showing PR in the directory. BUT all of my other sites PR in the directory are about 1 year out of date.
From what I have seen - either they have just updated some sites or just updated some directories. I do not see any evidence of a total directory update.
Can anyone else confirm what I have noticed?
1 more thing I should add is the directory seems to be based on a PR scale of 0-11, which is fine. BUT a site I have had at 7 for more than 1 years has always showed 5 in the directory! The only explaination I have is it has not been updated for a very long time.

I do not think that there is a relation between Google PR directory and site PR.
It seems to my that the Google PR directory is old.

Looks like I can relate to that.
One of my main sites has been PR 5 on the toolbar for approximately 7/8 months but the directory still shows the old PR 4.

My new website's(for 5-6 months) PR is 4. In G directory right now it seems to be 6...:) It looks an update to me...
