Just the main pages are listed as url only? Also i used to get 9000 hits by google now its like 100. Can somebody help?

I can't help out with an explanation but i can confirm that i've been seeing the same type of behavior on several sites recently. I can't find any correlation between the sites that is is occuring on..yet.

If it were a duplicate content penalty then a URL only listing could be appropriate, but I'm not sure if duplicate content results in this.

I've seen the URL only listing thing come and go on pages which aren't duplicates.

def sounds like a penalty of some sort, only time google ever displays just url, its either not crawled the page fully yet, or, its a penalty. Seeing its on your index page, that im sure, was once crawled fully, i would be worried something is up. i would assume u have many links in as well, meaning google is at ur index daily. i would check everything over, also try doing a search for very specific sentences that only your index would come up for, see if someone else is trying to cloak your index. i know there was some redirect issues recently surfacing, where people were creating sites, based on other sites.

Yea i thought it might be a dup content filter or something too. What if google blocks any effect to pass through these main pages then all the other pages inside those dir would also not rank anywhere? Its funny but the index page also has a full listing and not just url only. But all the pther main pages are on url.

"Its funny but the index page also has a full listing and not just url only. But all the pther main pages are on url."

Are you saying that you have both a url only AND a full listing for your index page?

My index page has a full listing.

The pages that are in the root of the folder for eg

have url only

There are folder of the same name in the directory

"widget" folder where are all the widget related pages are

"superwidget" folder where all the superwidget related pages are...

have full listing.
