hmm.. looks like i am replying to myself :( from [itworld.com...] | Another reason for Microsoft to include the Google Deskbar in Partner Pack was because it was built using Microsoft technology. "Microsoft is pleased that Google recognized the potential of the Windows platform and the .NET Framework and chose to use it to enable the delivery of a great search application," a Microsoft spokeswoman said. Google spokesman Steve Langdon said bundling the Deskbar in the Windows Partner Pack is an example of industry collaboration. "From time to time we work with Microsoft and this is an example of that," he said. |

Nice find, Chndru. There's also the Microsoft-specific search we offer, e.g. [google.com...] Also, I'm typing this on XP. :)

MS was looking for nice apps that used .net to show off in that pack. Remember MSN is just a small part of MS. I guess showing off how cool .net can be was more important.

Google's attitude of working with the competitors rather than isolating themselves from the competitors is nice. Un-netscape-like!

>Google's attitude of working with the competitors rather than isolating themselves from the competitors is nice. Un-netscape-like! Does this come under the concept of "Keep your friends closer, keep your enemies (competitors) closer"?

Perhaps there will be a new search engine lovechild in the future - microogle? goog-s-n?
