A link added pointing to my site two weeks ago has just shown up in backlinks. Anyone seeing any PR changes yet?

What a good way to start the weekend seeing backlink count updating on my sites across the board. Anyone else seeing this update, is it global or am I just lucky ;)

Yes, seeing it too. But not seeing any movements in the SERPS so it's pretty useless for me ;)

I am also seeing a nice backlink update, looks good from where I am :)

<added> I am seeing less DMOZ clones showing up this time, but more links from internal pages are showing. Also from my selection of sites I can see many links from the same site showing up</added>

Never mind ... I am tired and made a stupid mistake. Anyone who read my original post should ignore it entirely.

Suffice it to say that yes, there has been a link update (whether or not PR has been updated yet) and I am seeing differences in the SERPS.

My backlinks have been updated as well. Still showing a lot of the same sporadic links as showed up in the last backlink update. Can't see any rhyme or reason between the backlinks that are/aren't included...

Backlinks have updated for me too. In fact, they went down slightly - but this is a new website, so I'm not discouraged.

The Google directory is also shifting. I used to place second from last in my directory listing, I am now smack in the middle of the pack. Since the listing is supposed to be in PR order, I take that as a positive.

I am not seing that.
The PR in the Directory was updated about 10 days ago - are you not refering to that?

BillyS is correct. It first shifted about 30 or more days ago, then adjusted (as you said) about 10 days ago. Now I'm seeing another adjustment today.

Does it mean anything? No.

Backlinks "updated", maybe not as completely pukey but still just a collection of useless idiotbacklinks.

Confirm Google Directory has updated, not the one ten days ago, but a new one today.

My listing in google moved up about 10 days ago (from dead last to third from last.) I paniced today when I couldn't find it at the bottom of the page. Felt much better when I saw the listing in the middle of the group.

I also agree with the statement about the quality of the links. I've got some decent links for a couple of months now that still didn't show up in this latest update.

Just got in, difference from this AM here.

Yes, nice.

Yay! I'm up from 297 to 479 backlinks... might be enough to get me PR7 if they ever do another PR update *sigh*

Heh. Every link in my corner of the Google directory now has enough green in their PageRank bar (27px) for PageRank 7.

That's quite an update! Sites which show PageRank 5 in the toolbar have a PageRank 7 bar in the directory. Okay, this isn't the same throughout the directory but it seems like the directory update has been very generous indeed.

I still cant see any changes. I think I'm still getting old data.

Am I the only one to experience this?
I had a lot of directory-like site backlinks (links even showing when doing a "+www.mydomain.net" search), which have completely vanished.
A related:search brought up several of them too ... all have disappered.
Is this just happending to me or has Google changed something in it's algo?

there has been a link update (whether or not PR has been updated yet)

Not yet, but Googleguy is back after a very, very long absence so maybe they've finished partying and are ready to get back to work?

Backlinks have updated for me too. In fact, they went down slightly - but this is a new website, so I'm not discouraged.

The backlink count is never actually accurate so I wouldn't really pay attention to it. The only reason I pointed it out was because Google was actually doing something for a change.

Backlinks "updated", maybe not as completely pukey but still just a collection of useless idiotbacklinks.

Ummm ... I'm not sure I quite understand that. Maybe you should lay off the vodka whilst posting? ;)
